Water Retention and Breathing Problems

I have been retaining water and gaining weight because of it on and off for the last two years. My main problem, is not only the swelling and weight gain, but also my shortness of breath. I can barely walk 20 feet without nearly gasping for breath. I have been to Pulmonologist, Cardiologist, and both say everything looks OK in their prospective categories. What could be causing this severe shortness of breath that seems to have come along with the water/fluid retention.

Answer

When the tissues of your body are waterlogged with water retention, it is much harder to absorb oxygen. This makes your body want to breath faster, to get more oxygen that way instead.

The Waterfall Diet works best for water retention of unknown cause, which seems to be the case with you. The paperback version is more informative, and is available from Amazon websites (see panel opposite).

I have swelling in my knees, legs, and feet. Ever since I had a complete knee replacement done. I am on methadone for the pain in my back and knees and feel that this might be the culprit of my problems. I need to find a natural way to get it to go away. I don”t have time to sit around with my feet up at all times. I notice also after quiting smoking for almost a month now that when I bend over I have a hard time breathing. That is something I never paid attention to before. I hardly eat anymore and I just feel like I am gaining weight no matter what.
