Swelling in One Leg
Question
I am 32 years old and have swelling behind my left ankle, along with pain throughout my left leg. There have been no diet changes, I watch my salt, and am curious to know how to deal with it as it is very painful to walk and even have it on the floor at times. I understand that everyone’s got some sort of health issue, but I’m too young to wear compression stockings!
Answer: Probably not just water retention
This is something that needs a doctor to look at. Swelling in just one spot is inflammation, not water retention. Something is causing that inflammation, and a qualified person needs to assess what that cause may be.
The cause could be some kind of injury, or perhaps a blockage in a vein. This is not something you can treat yourself.
