i have ordered your book but i need to start on a proper diet now. i have just left a message for my doctor's nurse to call with this info. she had given me one for warfarin but i suspect the diet for water retention will be different- especially to drink more water to prevent dehydration. i have been prescribed triamterene 37.5mg/hctz 25mg tabs [water pills] look forward to your book. joe

It sounds like you have a knowledgeable doctor. You might find the Waterfall Diet helpful. If you would like me to assess your health and design a health program for your PMS and other problems please contact me via the link in the right-hand panel.

I had an inflamed bowel about a year ago. I also had diarrhea and the doctor took me off all wheat, sugars etc. But the last 2 months the water retention has come back. I am sentive to all dairy and have cut it all out. Insted I eat goat cheese, soya milk (does not taste very good). My doctor this month says I have PMS and that I should take a B6 and Primrose. I have been taking them ever since and it does not seem to be working. I am on the depo-depovara and will be going off in Sept because I am 48 years old. I take vitiam c 1000 mg and b12 for stress. What should I do? Hope you can answer.

Eating a lot of salt can certainly cause or aggravate water retention. Frequent urination can be a sign of a number of different things.

I frequently feel the need to go to the toilet (sometimes just minutes after I've just been). I also eat a lot of salt. Could fluid retention be a cause of this?
